Day 4 in Texas was "a day in the life of my parents!" Husband got to see first hand what my parents spend all day doing. We watched Dad's World Religions class - and Alley got mentioned! We watched his choir, as well. (Band was WAAAY too early in the morning for these Mountain Standard Time visitors!) We also sat in on some of Mom's 5-6 grade Choir class. In between classes we snuck off to "It's a Grind" to have a mid-day coffee treat. Mom took us up to the top of the bell tower, and although it was a cloudy day, we got a good view of the city. To get to the top, we had to climb a flight of stairs and 4 ladders, which are secured to the floor above with a simple hook. Good things none of us were afraid of heights or are scared of rickity, precarious situations! While up on the top, Mom mentioned that we might not want to step in the corners, because they seem to be disintigrating a bit, and she wouldn't want us to fall through - thanks Mom! We ate at Rudy's BBQ - my favorite! - before going to see an IMAX film. Mom & Dad get free tickets to the IMAX theater at the Texas History Museum, and were able to take us along! After the IMAX, we "split up-" Mom and I ran to JoAnn fabric where I reveled in the crafting capabilities those big city people have access to, and Dad & Husband picked up some Blue Bell ice cream. Blue Bell is made in a small Texas town, and is yummy yummy! We made some chocolate hazlenut sauce to go over the ice cream, and indulged ourselves in some sweetness before heading to bed!
