Husband and I have had a great weekend so far! Friday night, we had a fantastic evening in. Husband beat me multiple times at Chutes and Ladders. He also had a streak of luck, and beat me at Monopoly - but only by a couple hundered dollars! I usually dominate at Monopoly, but not so much this time... Maybe I was just being generous because it is his birthday week - or maybe he was just that good - we'll never know! After we decided we were too tired to play games any more, we decided to start on a puzzle. Addictive, I tell you! "Just one more piece, just one more, just one more" quickly turned into "It's 2:30 - the edges are together, we HAVE to call it quits for the night!"
Today we went to Cheyenne so I could take Husband out for his birthday present! First, he had to open his presents, but his surgery precluded him from wearing the shirt or Docs I got him. Once in Cheyenne, we started at Hobby Lobby, where we got some supplies for my brother's mock-up wedding invitation, some "ingredients" for a present, and hit some great sales on their housewares/decorations! Some of the things we got were 90% off!! We got all the decorations with a new acquirement in mind - more on that in another post! Next we went to Sams because Callie-bear prefers we get her food there as it's such a deal we have more change left over to buy her treats! We also scored some great birthday shirts for Husband, too - a Calvin Klein 1/2 zip sweater and an Izod shirt for less than $30 for both! After Sams we hit Home Depot to get some brackets for shelves in our living room - they are supposed to be floating shelves, but once they have anything on them, they sorta hang, so they were in need of additional support before we can fully use them. We also priced out crown moulding for our living room/dining room- soon we'll be adding that to our to-do list and house fix-up accomplishments! Next was SANFORD'S Grub and Pub - one of our favorite Cheyenne Restaurants. They have lots and lots of specialty burgers - Husband says his favorite is the best burger he's ever had in his whole life - and fried pickles. We also hit up Target for a suitcase for our upcoming trip to Austin and WalMart for more pieces of a present we're making and some of those treats Callie likes so much. We were going to top off the night with some Starbucks for the birthday boy, but they were closed already - such a bummer. Husband looks forward to Starbucks visits so much, and I was looking forward to him getting a birthday treat. Guess we'll have to catch them next time. Our ride home was a bit more eventful than our ride to Cheyenne, because of the massive snow they got while we were there. While passing trucks, it felt like we were in a big cloud, and could barely see anything. We made it home uneventfully, thanks to Husband's skillful driving, although it could have easily become quite eventful right as we were exiting, right, honey?!? We sorted through and admired all the loot we got and made some important final decisions about the new thing we're getting for our house!
