Day One in Texas
We got up, had a wonderful breakfast with Aunt Lois in Denver, and headed to the Airport... with some fantastic red shoes on my feet! Aunt Lois was generous enough to allow me to break in her super cute and sexy red heels for her, and I loved every second of it! It was relatively sunny when we left her house, and by the time we were loading our bags on the shuttle to the airport from parking, it was starting to snow and was very (bitterly even) cold! We timed things just right, and were able to comfortably make it to our gate with out either rushing to make the flight or having to twiddle our thumbs while waiting to board. A rather uneventful two hours later, we were in Austin and met my parents at the baggage claim. Of course they noticed my wonderful red shoes right away! We took a drive around downtown Austin, and stopped for a Valentine's Day treat at Starbucks. I had warned Husband that he would likely immediately pick up on the Texas accent we were sure to hear everywhere - of course, an hour into being in Texas, we had yet to hear a "y'all" or "fixin' to."
