Our final day found us back in Boston, squeezing in a quick exploration of the few sights we weren't able to take in the first day. We had only a few hours before we had to back at the airport to head home. Again, a fabulous, sunny day. For being on the northern East Coast in April, we were blessed with amazing weather - it could easily have been a blizzard rather than the sunny, crisp days we were able to enjoy. We started out with a Harbor Cruise, which took us all around - you guessed it, the harbor! A great way to hear more about Boston's history, while enjoying the water that is such a pivotal part of Boston. We made a stop at the U.S.S. Constitution and visited the museum that went into in-depth detail about its extensive history. Our next, and final, stop before the airport was to be a local pizza parlor. We headed to our car for our last taste of Boston. However, we soon discovered that certain parking garages in Boston only accept cash - even though there are no postings indicating that! Oops. After more than a slight moment of panic, we eventually came up with a solution which left us in no worse shape than we were before - plus, we came out of the deal with an unexpected bonus of more canolis from the pastry shop we had found earlier in our trip!! Lesson learned: Just because (and especially because) your plane leaves in less than three hours, you still need to have cash on hand when you are in a town other than your own. Our Boston trip was the first actual vacation we took together, and will always be one of our favorites to look back on. We're looking forward to returning for more exploring in the future.
