City Views

We arrived in Seattle a bit later than scheduled, and managed to find our luggage and the shuttle to get downtown without too much trouble. We took a big, charter-like bus directly to our first hotel, the Westin. Check-in was a breeze, and we were excited to find out we were on the 30th floor out of 40! That was guaranteed to give us a good view of something. We walked in our room, and off to the left is a mini hallway with the bathroom on the left, and a large closet on the right. Straight ahead is a sofa and coffee table, a desk is in front of the floor to ceiling windows lining the whole wall, and there are two chairs next to the armoir with the t.v. Nope, you didn't miss the description of the bed or it's location - we didn't see one! We look around a bit more, and yep- it's in the wall!!! We had a Murphy bed in a $200/night hotel room!! Seriously?!? We pulled it down and it looked like a normal mattress and there was normal bedding in the closet. We contemplated requesting a different room with a 'real' bed, but in the end, our view won out. (Plus, it made it super easy for Husband to work out, as there was a lovely open space in the room when the bed was put back up!) Our room had the most spectacular view - we could see the port and we also had a decent 'city scape' view. It was lovely! Husband also loved that our in-room coffee was none other than Starbucks! (oh, the exciting things in life!)
