May is a busy month in our families: birthdays, Mother's Day, graduations, and starting this year, a big anniversary - the anniversary of Mom's autologous stem cell transplant!  We look back at the process she went through this time last year: harvesting of the cells, a brief return home, chemo to take all of her levels to zero and kill not only the bad cells, but also the good immune cells, the transpant itself, and the long, arduous recovery, not only in the hospital, but at home throughout the summer.  It's so exciting to celebrate the success of the transplant.  Beginning with the December blood tests, her M-Spike levels have been too low to count.  Although there is no declaration of remission and she still has to take chemo every day, we rejoice in each day with this status.  We rejoice in the medical advancements that have made our celebration possible.  We rejoice that she is still able to perform the work and ministry she loves so dearly.  We rejoice that God is good and thank Him for His healing touch!!
