Home Sweet Home

A week ago Sunday, Mom was admitted to inpatient care due to nausea, dehydration, and extremely low blood pressure. Her time in the hospital was a blessing in disguise! She had much more socialization than she would have had in the hotel room which is vital in lifting one's spirits; nurses were there to make sure all meds were administered in just the right dose at just the right time & it was easy to add in extra meds for whatever symptoms popped up; and the beds and climate were MUCH more comfortable! After a few really rough days, things started to look up around Sunday. Her white blood cell count had zeroed out, meaning all the bad cells had been killed off by the chemo, and the new good cells were just waiting to take over. On Sunday her counts rose to .1, on Monday .3, and yesterday, 1.5!! Yesterday's big news was that today she would probably be released to the hotel for a day or two, and released home by Saturday. (Also, yesterday, she was able to get a 'pass' from the room and walked around the hospital, and even stopped at the coffee stand to make her first purchase in weeks!!) Today's fantastic news is that her count is above 8 (possibly even above 14), and that she will likely be released from the hospital this afternoon - to go HOME!!! Praise be to God for the healing and renewal He has blessed Mom with!! Once home, the healing and renewal, along with lots of doctor visits, will continue, so please continue to keep Mom in your prayers!
