Last weekend, we went to visit Husband's Grandma in the Sand Hills. Husband's sister and kiddos were going to go up too, so Grandma could meet the twins, but both twins have been fighting bronchitis and have had visits to the ER. They're getting better every day, but weren't able to go with us still. Husband got off work Saturday morning at 6 AM, and we went to pick up our almost 3 year old neice before heading out to see Grandma. She is such a bundle of joyous energy!! She kept talking about "going to see Grandma" and every so often would crane her neck to look out the front window and ask, "Where's Grandma?" She was so excited to go with us, and we loved taking her for the weekend. We saw Husband's Uncle that lives with his Grandma, too who spoiled us immensely and took us out to eat some of the best food ever!, and his Aunt & Uncle that live on the family ranch, as well as some cousins, too!! Grandma is the sweetest lady, and I love when we get to spend time with her. We treasure our times with her very much. It's always such a nice feeling after getting to spend time with all of them. We watched the Big 12 Championship Nebraska-Texas game, and boy was it a good football game!! We, of course were rooting for NE, and were disappointed we lost - barely ,with only one second to go. Husband joked that we'll have to cancel our Christmas trip to Texas because we can't step foot in that state after that game!! We also are meeting my friend and her husband for coffee while we're down there, and Husband said they aren't allowed to mention the game! (My friend was raised a Husker fan, but then she went to college at the University of Texas and turned to the "dark side" and became a Longhorn fan!!) Husband was able to take a short nap on Saturday on our trip up there, and then slept Saturday night. Sunday it started snowing before church, and kept snowing! We didn't know it was going to snow, so we took the Mustang up, which does not drive as well in the snow as our SUV! And, of course, I am a terrible driver in the snow since I learned to drive in Texas! So, poor Husband had to drive all the way back to take our niece home and get us home, and then he had to go to work. He was exhausted! Monday, we had a training together all afternoon, and worked Monday night. Tuesday, he had court on his big drug case, and worked again Tuesday night. He slept like a rock today when he got home!!!! It's been F-R-E-E-Z-I-N-G here!! Husband had to work in -18 degree weather last night - and that was without windchill!! I thought he was going to come home a snowman this morning! Here are some recent pictures of the twins, who are growing SO BIG!! Baby girl is getting such big chipmunk cheeks and is catching up to her big brother!
